Susan Chesney – Your Trouble Shooter
In Susan’s own words, “My new role is contracts coordinator. I monitor the order process from beginning to end including assisting in obtaining technical approval from customers, chasing for any technical details required, monitoring delivery dates and ensuring correct documentation is available on time for export.
I am responsible for the coordination of the shipping with our packing and shipping companies and customer service – making sure all queries are resolved as quickly as possible by consulting with all relevant departments.
One of the more interesting aspects of my job is dealing with customers from all around the world. I coordinate payments by letters of credit from customers, our accounts department and with the banks. A new part of my role is updating internal procedures and documentation to ensure that the processes work as quickly and flawlessly as possible.”
It’s clearly a job full of challenges and daily variety that Susan relishes where previous experience in spares, components and shipping all help. “Most orders do run smoothly but customs clearance can be an issue sometimes,” added Susan.
We have moved Susan into this new role as she is a bright, dedicated member of the Street team who will really help us to provide a more efficient service and improved delivery times for all our distributors worldwide. It’s early days at the moment but Susan is already making a difference.
Outside work Susan has a busy life with her husband and two boys (aged 9 and 16). With two dogs to look after it’s also a good job Susan enjoys long country walks. Baking is another interest – though we are not sure if she will be entering the ‘Great British Bake Off’ anytime soon.
