The LX electric chain hoist gives US crane builders, distributors and end users access to compact, efficient British-engineered lifting technology, supported by local stock and domestic supply through Street Crane Inc. in Greenville, South Carolina. Designed for everyday material handling, workstation lifting and light-duty crane applications, the LX range combines reliable performance with the practical availability needed for fast-moving American projects.
The LX electric chain hoist is built around a highly modular and versatile platform, offering a wide range of hoist and trolley configurations to suit different lifting requirements. The range is available in capacities from 275 lb up to 5 tons, with compatibility across most supply voltages and options for single or dual-speed operation. Hoists can be specified in standard headroom configurations or low-headroom designs with chain diverter, making them suitable for applications where usable hook height is important.
LX hoists are available for eye suspension or with powered, push, or hand-geared trolleys. All capacities are available in M5, FEM 2m, duty classification, with a wide selection of lifting speeds. Standard models are manufactured with rated capacities in US tons, helping simplify specification for American crane builders and end users.

The LX Range
LX Hoist with Powered Trolley
The most popular LX hoist configuration is designed for use on single girder overhead cranes, jib cranes, and monorails. The LX chain hoist is suspended from a four‑wheeled trolley, powered via a flange-mounted gearbox by a two-speed electric motor with an adjustable brake. The wheels are machined from steel with a single flange and a slight radius on the running surface to ensure reliable contact when operating on either flat or tapered beam flanges. Two wheels are driven to provide consistent traction, even on uneven running surfaces.

This LX hoist configuration is suited to monorail applications requiring powered lifting with manual push travel. The LX chain hoist is suspended from a four‑wheeled manual trolley. The wheels are machined from steel with a single flange and a slight radius on the running surface to ensure reliable contact when operating on either flat or tapered beam flanges. Manual push travel allows precise positioning and helps prevent load drag.
