Precise, Controlled Lifting and Movement of Heavy Loads in Confined Spaces.
Jib cranes are commonly used in warehouses, factories, construction sites, and loading docks for tasks such as lifting and transferring materials, machinery, or other heavy items. The primary advantage of a jib crane is its ability to provide precise control over lifting operations and maneuverability within a restricted area.
Jib cranes can be either fixed or movable, depending on the design. A fixed jib crane is anchored to a specific location, while a movable jib crane can be mounted on a track or a rotating base to offer more flexibility in positioning. These cranes are ideal for confined spaces or areas with limited overhead clearance, as their compact design allows them to operate in areas where larger cranes cannot fit.
By leveraging these benefits, jib cranes can significantly improve productivity, safety, and efficiency in various industrial and construction settings.
A column mounted jib crane is a type of jib crane that is fixed to a vertical column, which serves as its support structure. The crane’s horizontal arm (or jib) is attached to the top of the column and can rotate around it, providing a wide range of motion for lifting and moving loads. These cranes are typically used in spaces where floor space is limited, as they do not require extensive foundations or floor tracks
Column mounted jib cranes are often used in industrial environments like workshops, warehouses, and factories, where precise lifting and handling of materials within a defined area are needed. They are typically compact, space-efficient, and easy to install, offering flexibility for handling loads in a circular area around the column.
Street slewing jib cranes are available in capacities up to 15 tonnes incorporating the Street ZX electric wire rope hoist or in capacities up to 5 tonnes incorporating the Street LX electric chain hoist. Jib arms may be specified with a working hook radius of up to 10 meters. Our slewing jib cranes are available with either manual or power slewing mechanisms.
Street pillar slewing jib cranes are floor mounted and available with either 270° of slew in which case the jib arm rotates about a pivot post mounted one side of the pillar or up 360° of slew with the jib arm rotating about the pillar itself. In this second case it is an option to limit slew to less than 360° by positioning end stops. Street wall slewing jib cranes are mounted on a wall or building column providing 180° of slew.
Slewing jib cranes are cost effective individual workstation cranes and often operate under an overhead crane which provides general hook coverage.
Street wall travelling jib cranes are available in capacities up to 20 tonnes incorporating the Street ZX electric wire rope hoist or in capacities less than 5 tonnes incorporating the Street LX electric chain hoist.
The travelling cantilever structure with hook coverage over a continuous work area makes this type of crane ideal for servicing a line of machines or workstations, especially where loads must be moved from one to another.
Wall travellers are ideal for overlapping use with overhead cranes where the travelling jib services the workstations down one side of a bay and the overhead crane provides general service of the whole bay.
Generally speaking, building structures for wall travelling jib cranes need to be specifically designed to take the crane loads.
