Semi-Portal Cranes

Discover the Power of Street Semi-Portal Cranes

Street semi-portal cranes, also known as semi-gantry cranes, provide a flexible alternative to a full portal crane where only one side of the crane needs floor-level support.

In a standard semi-portal crane, one side of the bridge runs on a floor-mounted rail, while the other side runs on a high-level rail supported by columns or an existing building structure. This makes semi-portal cranes well suited to facilities where space, layout or structural limitations make a full portal or overhead crane less practical.

For suitable smaller-capacity applications, Street can also provide a rail-less semi-portal crane. This design uses advanced polyurethane-tyred wheels running directly on the factory floor, removing the need for floor-mounted rails. The result is a cleaner working area, improved access for machinery and reduced trip hazards at floor level.

Advantages of Using a Semi-Portal Crane?

Localised Hook Service: Ideal for production facilities, these cranes can run beneath overhead cranes, providing targeted hook service to specific production cells.
Enhanced Flexibility: Semi-Portal cranes can operate under a gantry crane cantilever, increasing their versatility and utility in various settings.
Space Efficiency: They maximise the use of available space by operating in conjunction with overhead cranes, making them suitable for facilities with complex layouts.
Optimised Hook Coverage: While the semi-portal crane serves a specific area, the overhead crane covers the entire working area, ensuring comprehensive hook coverage.
