Precast Concrete Production Cranes

Industry Applications

Transforming Precast Concrete Handling Worldwide.

Be it volume production of blocks, slabs, barriers, ducts, wall or floor sections, tunnel segments or bespoke casting, Street cranes are doing the lifting.

Some of the essential requirements in the precast concrete industry are fast cycle times, arduous duty, semi-automatic control and variable environments which often call for specially designed solutions rather than off-the-shelf equipment. In the production process, two levels of cranes may be required with overhead cranes spanning the full bay and either wall travelling jib cranes or semi-goliath cranes covering specific processes at a lower level.

This type of application requires carefully specified functionality and interlocking safety systems for which Street Crane has extensive knowledge and experience. Stockyard cranes for the precast industry are typically single or double girder portal or semi-portal construction, usually with high-speed travel motions to minimise loading times in a long yard.

Some of the products and features we have supplied to the precast concrete sector.

Smart control features such as:

  • Anti-Sway Control: This technology minimises the swinging of loads or hooks caused by traverse movements, ensuring stable and accurate lifting. It’s essential for maintaining load integrity and enhancing safety during operations.
  • No Load/Express Lift: This feature enables faster lifting speeds when the hoist is empty, improving operational efficiency by reducing the time spent on non-load movements.
  • Load Dependent Speeds: This feature adjusts the lifting speed based on the weight of the load. By optimising the speed according to the load, it enhances efficiency and reduces wear and tear on the equipment.
  • Design Working Period (DWP) Monitors: These monitors track the usage and operational lifespan of lifting equipment, aiding in maintenance planning and ensuring the equipment’s longevity and reliability.
  • Condition Monitoring: Continuous assessment of the health and performance of lifting equipment is provided by condition monitoring systems. Early detection of potential issues helps prevent unexpected breakdowns and ensures smooth, safe operations.
