The allowable cantilever is calculated case by case, based on crane geometry, load, crane weight and stability.
How often does a Goliath crane need statutory inspection?
In the UK, lifting equipment is subject to LOLER requirements. HSE guidance states that lifting equipment must usually receive thorough examination every 12 months, or every 6 months if used to lift people. Lifting accessories are usually examined every 6 months, unless a competent person defines a different written examination scheme.
